This weekend we had all the most beautiful autumn conditions. Two days sun pure.

Saturday when I did finally awake, I still felt tired. 
Certainly forced by getting to bed more than latley the two days before. Thursday is was for work and Friday because of being invited for dinner by a fellow who is about to retire actually. Nearly you can say that he is now about to enjoying the ‘Golden Autumn’ of his life!

But back to saturday! Feeling tired I first got up first around 11am, but looking out of the windows I was immediately was sure about this would become a day totally free from all duties. And directly after breakfast I went for Suzi, which I had again neglected for several weeks. Being aware she would show me! … I was happy about to hear the engine starting already after the third try and we had all the best and enjoyable ride through gorgeous looking autumn like colored forest.

Today now I move the second bike (the push bike) and again we had a beautiful day out in nature doing a lap through several smaller towns close by making it nearly up to 50km finally. Two sunny days, two sunny and enjoyable trips. Thats Tops!

Guess when I now would go for some convertible, I would have to send government some petition about to extent our weekends here with at least one more day! For me being able to move all ‘options’ during one weekend. roflmao

Too many choices, too many toys?! You can only do one thing right?!

You’re right, that was one of the questions I asked myself lately when I went for that push bike.
And now indeed the last few weeks Suzi came a bit short not getting moved anymore. But this was mainly forced by weather (it’s really no fun riding at rain) or heaps of work preventing to head off and away even on the weekends.

Now today everything does fit. No urgent work to do, sun and try conditions and the tempting offer to join a group of bicycle enthusiasts. Now seriously considering about I ended up in following my inner feeling saying no. And after a satisfying breakfast I went for getting Suzi out of the garage and left for a great and also satisfying ride. You know? The greed for speed!

But after three hours I had enough, even challenged myself a bit by staying close behind another bike nearly having double as much horse powers than mine for nearly 30km always coming close again in turns and sharp and narrow pieces of the roads, and headed home again for coffee and cake (plum cake! mmmh).

And guess! It’s still time, light and sunny outside and now after this short break, I will even be able to head off again and move the second bike as well. Thats Tops!

ps: Quick add. At the end I made it up to 60km. Sadly during the last 10km or so it started to rain and I had to spend an extra hour cleaning the gear and myself again.

I think that I here recently talked about me buying a push bike. Now being a sworn in real biker, I have to confess that I’m not really trained to use some. My only memory  about using one last, goes back to a really lovely day trip, I did together with friends while staying with them as part of a vacation trip in 2005.

Ok, every beginning is hard, so was mine. Getting the body warm and out of hibernation and finally getting familiar with the near gear, finding my own rhythm again during the first 10km was a need. While the next 20km weren’t a big deal anymore. Then we had to return because of upcoming rain …. What a pity!

Sure, and I’m honest at this point! Although increasing fuel prices lower the fun using the real bike, the sonorous sound of my with  98PS powered Suzi is more like my taste. But from time to time … doing it yourself … seems not really bad to me anymore.

This past weekend was just great - sun, mild temperatures and no single drop of rain at all!

Right on friday I tried to finish all really necessary task getting the freedom to be able to use all the time of the coming two days. Especially this year with a dragging rainy and cold April the wish to stay outside and enjoy nice conditions is strong.

So on saturday morning right after breakfast I went for my biker gear (you know? that “real bike” stuff), dressed up and move my Suzi out of the garage. Heading into the nowhere without having any idea where the street will lead me I ended up in scratching the border between France and Germany a few time, having a real enjoyable coffee and cake in some “outside” restaurant to finally return during late late afternoon more or less tired but overall happy with myself, the day itself and the world in general!

Nevertheless there were the need for some grocery shopping left and so I finally did take the car driving to some supermarket and ending up in an bigger electronic store (huh … thats late evening shopping until 10pm ) looking again for such an MacBook Air …. duh I guess sooner or later I will end up with such a thingy …

Then again on sunday I was keen to repeat my other day adventure again. So I directly heading to my Suzi again which I even hadn’t brought back into the garage for the night and left home straight away.

This time my way and the street did lead me into the so called “Old World”! It is a lovely and quiet piece on earth. Mostly covered with beautiful farmland and broken up with smaller and bigger patches of forest, a little bit back in time compared with the more urbanised and industrial area here where I live.

It was such a wonderful day that I even nearly got lost about cruising all these small and narrow little countryside roads forward and backwards for ages and had to use my map to be able to find my direction out of this area finally heading home in the evening! Such day should never end!

Today I couldn’t resist anymore. Even my day today was already pre-filled with all kind of different tasks, with the sun coming out this morning all good intends were flushed away.

Spending the usual time in the bathroom, having breakfast and checking the conditions again were all I did this morning before I directly went for the motorbike gear. I was anyway alone this morning end therefore the discussion with myself about neglecting earlier planned tasks was rather short.

It was nearly like Suzi had awaited me alreadly. After I had turned the key and pressed the start button, the engine started right away on the first try.

Sure it wasn’t really warm at all and the few lonely sun beams of this early spring sun here this morning couldn’t really warm me nor the day in general. Our April here so far is very cold and rainy at all.

But anyway! Who cares? I decided not even to take rain gear with me … and it worked out!
A great run over shortly 2 hours and a bit about 180km without one rain drop in between, a start into a new biker season can hardly be better.
