Gardening?!

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

I really couldn’t say that I’m much into this gardening. I curiously really do need the space around with a bit of distance to the neighbors but the coming with work especially at this time of the year is always more a load than anything else.

All the summer I do just the minimum like cutting here and cutting there and mowing the lawn. But with the ending season now things needing to be done seems to be endless … Right at a time when especially this time seems to be short for everything you have to carefully decide about on what you do spend it. :-/

During the week when they announced sunny conditions I was very happy about with coming over friends having some good excuse not to spend all day out preparing things. Now …hmph … they called having some kind of family crises with a sick family member in hospital. So somehow without my excuse anymore I really ended up with spending nearly all day out working through things.

But today it was finally over with passion. Awaiting the sun coming out and getting warmer, I did spend some time creating a new template and fixing a few issues but the finally I headed out of the house.

And believe it or not! Now being home I do not even have a bad conscience about neglecting all. I only might regret it again in a week or two when I still have to clean the pond nd even need to enter it. Then certainly at a time when it is already cold in it! :-/

Indian Summer

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Indian Summer is what I was always keep to see and at the end the reason why I’m over here at New England actually. So it’s sad that I missed it for about 4 to 5 weeks as I guess. But being part and included into some work schedules there was no other possibility to leave for it later on this year.

Now I’m not really sad about missing it. Actually I’m having a gorgeous time cruising a breath taking scenery even without that famous Indian Summer arrived already and I’m happy about enjoying the perhaps most stable summer conditions this year while being here.

At home summer was all about a constant up and down and a big mix of changing conditions so far. Two days sun followed by three or so days rain and ugly conditions. So there is really nothing I could complain about …

And last … since a while I have made it to my personal behavior to always spare something interesting out, as a reason to come back again doing it then.

So yeah "Indian Summer" with a bit of luck I will see you next then. And now I’m going on enjoying the gorgeous landscape here for a few days more. ;-)

Too many choices?

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Too many choices, too many toys?! You can only do one thing right?!

You’re right, that was one of the questions I asked myself lately when I went for that push bike.
And now indeed the last few weeks Suzi came a bit short not getting moved anymore. But this was mainly forced by weather (it’s really no fun riding at rain) or heaps of work preventing to head off and away even on the weekends.

Now today everything does fit. No urgent work to do, sun and try conditions and the tempting offer to join a group of bicycle enthusiasts. Now seriously considering about I ended up in following my inner feeling saying no. And after a satisfying breakfast I went for getting Suzi out of the garage and left for a great and also satisfying ride. You know? The greed for speed!

But after three hours I had enough, even challenged myself a bit by staying close behind another bike nearly having double as much horse powers than mine for nearly 30km always coming close again in turns and sharp and narrow pieces of the roads, and headed home again for coffee and cake (plum cake! mmmh).

And guess! It’s still time, light and sunny outside and now after this short break, I will even be able to head off again and move the second bike as well. Thats Tops! ;-)

ps: Quick add. At the end I made it up to 60km. Sadly during the last 10km or so it started to rain and I had to spend an extra hour cleaning the gear and myself again.

Socializing

Monday, July 21st, 2008

I had a big weekend socializing with friends which I enjoyed very much. Even the weather was a bit changing with a clouds and rain on saturday, sunday was fine and sunny and we use it to hike with our friends and their lovely puppy dog.

Carsten who has originally made me feeling interested in video cutting did tell me about a few new ideas he has and also showed me a few exceptional stuff he created while trying to get familiar with HDTV and producing in 16:9 format.

Since a few years he has found out about diving as of his interest. Last year as for his very first time, he recorded underwater and was happy to show me his final clip about some catch up he had with a bunch of dolphins at that time.

It is that relaxed talking about technique, spiced up with personal experiences and the one or other adventure, I really do enjoy and therefore talking with him and Martina always is a great pleasure for me.

Then yesterday we catched up with Frank and Ute early, going for some relaxed walk through the Palatinate Forest. Enjoying the sunny conditions we had a nice time being out in nature and as for Frank is some old classmate of me there is always something to exchange and talk about.

As for we both recently discovered about push bike riding we had a long and interesting chat about bike buys and equipment and commited to catch up again soon again going for some ride.

hayfever

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

It is a bit odd that exactly when others enjoy spring and summer most I start to suffer dealing with my hayfever.
For sure there are more worse things than that. But right now with changing conditions like actually it really starts to hassle me.

All today was  a great mix of sun and clouds with a wind going on all day and I guess that last is the really guilty part in that game.
So I ended up doubling my tablets  still running around with burning eyes
and a running nose.

Thanks god not all days are like today …. :-/
