Apple can de-install iPhone software from remote!

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Sometimes I think it really doesn’t matter what news is written about a company.
Good or not … there was a news about and people get curious about … that is the aim and that is what we want!

Now knowing about the rumours about Apple has a build in backdoor within the new Apple iPhone 3G were recently confirmed by Steve Jobs …. indeed make me thinking about.

But not about the company or the product itself. Instead I’m more thinking about whether or not I do like that.

Do I really want a company being able to de-install  software fromsomething I have bought from them?

They got my money and I got the phone … now it is mine and it is up to me deciding about which software I run on it.
What ever they tell me it is good for they have such an option, I’m seriously and absolutely sure about I don’t NEED it!

Guess it needs some firewall software soon for this gadget. ;-)

Interactions …

Human Interactions and especially those with people living remote are difficult for sure. It is not the first time I recognise, but it’s never a harm to internalize that again.

As it looks I have a talent in raising trouble. Sure it is no intention and very often it is my very wired sense of humor others don’t get, but from time to time I really have to tell myself to slow down and see things a bit more relaxed or … serious!

Perhaps matching to that I found some saying this morning:

"All problems of mankind have their reason in their missing ability to sit alone and still in a room"   Blaise Pascal

By god, this is worth to think about that!

This weekend while checking my emails I found some email conversation on a list … one, a real software bug buster had one of this "golden" issues (a million others don’t have) and a second one shouting for to see the source code (of a program which was given and not really written by the other one).

Getting the point far way quicker then them I started my reply whith the question "Are you both on drugs?!" …. Sure some joke on the edge. But could I have been really aware in the first one making it his pleasure to prototype and bug test a software and the other one is directly happy in helping out a complete team of developers to correct their issues and therefore asking for the most recent source code to rework it for them?

Yeah, I know … I’m doing it again! But honestly, without that bit of spicy conversation interaction does not make fun … at least not to me. But perhaps it’s better to do that with friends only in future.

I’ve never said or claimed for me, I’m easy …. when I left my room once ….

Masters of planning and organization ….

Friday, July 25th, 2008

All today I’m working together and for a company running a real big application move from remote. When ask about in front they said that they will do all the planning their selves. Great I thought, but stayed dumb not going the risk making them grumpy.

At the end I really got some planning two days ago and after a few iteration of asking and answering even I thought we could work with it.

Today now work started rough as for a few preconditions weren’t ready and done, but after half an hour we were back in plan and everything looked fine. Just "looking" and "being" are two different things ….

The few minor hurdles came up for sure during the morning, but this is normal and nothing to mind and worry about in such a project. Even with the best planning in advance you can’t think about all and it depends on the coordinator and/or players to cruise and steer around.

But finally the best of all happend around lunchtime. Right around noon we had planned to stop some application and export/re-import a real big database. So I dialed in into a phone conference as scheduled and found myself alone there. :-|

Right 15 minutes later the accountant of the customer dialed in and asked " What are we doing right now?" and I answered "Waiting?!" Perplexed He asked why and I said "Personally I guess your guys are at lunch … hopefully food is good there …."

Then there was silence!!        roflmao
