A cloudy weekend

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Even it was forecasted different this weekend was a cloudy one. For the time of the year we have still warm and dry but with an overall cloudy sky and therefore missing sun far away from being one of those famous golden autumn weekends our region is famous for.

Keen to do, but not being sure it would work out without getting wet I decided against some bike trip and we did spend the saturday afternoon in town doing a bit of shopping and ended up in some cafe enjoying the world best giant cappucino I know.

Today also started with a lot of clouds and very foggy conditions which remained until half the afternoon. The first sun beam I got aware about I saw around 3pm and was the final reason to immediately leave the house and get a bit of fresh air during a walk.

Hopefully one of the next October weekends will be more sunny again for me being able to move Suzi one more time again. It will be anyway then one of the last chances to do so this year.

As a child I didn’t like autumn. For me it was the first indicator for the soon coming up winter, while I deeply adored spring and summer with all the possibilities to stay outside and having fun with friends. Today I see for sure the attraction of this time of the year and just a few weeks ago we came back from New England. A region we for sure visited with the intention to enjoy the famous Indian Summer there.

But given a real chance …. Guess I would not hesitate to immediately heading over to the southern hemisphere of the world directly enjoying the next spring season there. :-)

Indian Summer

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Indian Summer is what I was always keep to see and at the end the reason why I’m over here at New England actually. So it’s sad that I missed it for about 4 to 5 weeks as I guess. But being part and included into some work schedules there was no other possibility to leave for it later on this year.

Now I’m not really sad about missing it. Actually I’m having a gorgeous time cruising a breath taking scenery even without that famous Indian Summer arrived already and I’m happy about enjoying the perhaps most stable summer conditions this year while being here.

At home summer was all about a constant up and down and a big mix of changing conditions so far. Two days sun followed by three or so days rain and ugly conditions. So there is really nothing I could complain about …

And last … since a while I have made it to my personal behavior to always spare something interesting out, as a reason to come back again doing it then.

So yeah "Indian Summer" with a bit of luck I will see you next then. And now I’m going on enjoying the gorgeous landscape here for a few days more. ;-)
