Ending Season

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Today we had a gorgeous autumn day with an all over sunny day. Quickly commited yesterday wit a friend, I headed out of the house early and drove to his house and together we headed off to the perhaps last longer push bike trip together this year.

Although sun is still strong and warming, authumn wind does already feel cold and I was quit happy about I had thought to put on my wind breaker. The landscape scenery actually is most beautiful and colored, while the color green is already on it’s way back. Now making room for yellow, red and brown.

Along the countryside roads nearly every farm and shop does offer fruits, new wine and home made onion pies to buy. And seeing all cars and folks on the road it nearly looks like everyone is keep to get his or her piece of it.

In some way it was a little bit surprising seeing so much people out on the road, as for it was election weekend here in Germany and I really doubt all others had already voted like me. Not I personally would be a very political person at all. But I see it as an "obligation" to vote for every responsible adult. But enough of this!

… as more interesting I think is, that on one of the perhaps last really friendly "summer" days this year I decided against the motorbike prefering the pushbike about. And even now feeling a bit tired about I still think about it as the right decision.

Next few weekends will now be filled with work around the house on on the property getting everything in shape for the winter season and especially ready before we will head off into our vacation. This time I feel about it as very much over due and I’m really looking forward to this time off. The and hopefully having a short and sweet 2nd summer this year.

A change to the better

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

For my feeling the world had a good and great day yesterday! A real change to the better!!

I guess like all people in world, yesterday I was looking constantly to North America and waiting until the final result was announced. I have to confess that rarely an election has ever got my interest that much before … not even one here.

Once for sure, there was never a president splitting up people that much than the actual one before and I have no real trouble in commiting that I’m counting down the days until he will finally leave the chair.

Speaking about splitting up people, I really do hope that the new Mr. President will be able to bring back people together again.
Once a famous man said: " I have a dream!!"

And so do I … I have the dream that from now on people, regardless their nationality, their color, their opinion and believing will come together again working hand in hand on some improvement and general move forward for the better of ALL again.

I’m aware you don’t know me Mr. Obama. But congrats!! God bless you Mr. President!!

Joe

So yesterday the final TV duel between the two election candidates did took place. For me it is still strange that the outgoing of an election in a country a few thousand miles away has such an impact on whole the world. But at least for me there was a clear winner yesterday at the end.

Although I was impressed to hear about this new advisor of one of the candidates. Mr. Joe the Plumber must be a real experienced guy and I wonder why he does join in that late into discussion and how they both would work together later on ….

Perhaps they would use the "Hey Joe principle"???      Hey Joe! Can you come over shortly? There is a new crisis going on we would need your advise on.

At the end  this could even work out better than once when the actual man in charge was sitting in some classroom somewhere in Florida.

Pardon, Sir! Our country is under attack! An Attack?????! Yes Sir, it’s a real tragedy ……

Ummm, Ummmm …. What to do? …. Hmpf! I might better stay perhaps? I know the speech already and the audience is lovely!

Yes, Claire! Your Barbie is lovely. Wished I would have an own one too. :-)

New England

Now with my vacation nearly finished, it seems to be time to put together a few of my impressions.

The landscape here is really breathtaking. I like it a lot and have found quit a few places where I could imagine to live myself. The more rough scenery along the coast is rather nice and impressive. But the more I did like the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Forest around … that is me! A nice lake surrounded by trees and a house close by the lake, That is what I would go for …

The people over here are rather nice and friendly! I’ve never had trouble and found quit a lot of exceptional friendly and helpful individuals. Getting in contact and even talking about the one or other more critical point like the coming up US Election was done easy and I enjoyed these dialogs a lot.

But … and that is not said with some bad intention …. People over here are different.

I can’t express it better. They are not wrong, not strange and not at least a bit of bad …. Just they are different.
Sometimes loud and the one or other time a bit superficial for my feelings. But never wrong!

Maybe too words now with less sense …. But truly! I liked my visit here and the things I have seen very much. :-)
