Even I’m in business since ages, I never had to do with that "evil" coming out of Walldorf. Ok, as for not eveyone will know, I’m speaking about SAP. And curious but true, all the years there were never a reason for me to touch it.

Now this will change today as for I’m heading directly to the spring of evil … the so called Headquarter of SAP at Walldorf visiting a 2 weeks startup training.

I have to confess that it has it’s own attraction to know to visit the headquarter of one of the worlds’ largest Software companies and I have to ommit that I’m curious now.

But hah! I’m not that easily to impress. At the end of the training I will make my vote about first.

Recently I was asked by a friend about our situation here in Germany…..

Is your economy really going down that much actually? We hear a lot of bad things about here … she said!

Now honestly …. I was surprised! Sure, our news here are full with bad news about banks and car industry are doing worse actually. But being asked about by some oversea friend was surprisingly new for me though.

It is a fact that global world economy is doing worse and we Germans are part of it. As a major export nation the actual dollar weakness is indeed a problem for us and our industry. Banks having money issues is at least for my generation a totally new experience. And finally an old, big and set company like Adam Opel being concerned about the big Mother General Motors behind the pond could be the issue for a possible final disaster is for sure special in itself.

Now with a lot of people complaining about self ruling forces of the markets have failed, now looking for governments to overtake a more dominant positions ruling managers and companies, I couldn’t say I’m really feeling happy about!

But being asked and even after thinking about, I would say we are concerned …. Doing worse is different!
Nevertheless, we all are connected within one big economically network and I deeply hope situation will improve soon for all again.

I’m not sure whether or not I have already mentioned here that I’m very much into my friends and friendships with them?

In a difference to many others out there, calling everyone a friend after 5 minutes, I very strictly separate my friends (folks I think about and treat as friends) and acquaintances I have from each other. I couldn’t do different anyway, as for friendship for me is much more than just knowing each other.

Friendship for me mean being there as friend and helping first, and if ever and at all … asking later about.

Yesterday was such a day. Ending work early and heading to a friend looking after his laptop was agreed and commited about already a few days before. Luckily it turned out that it was just a “piece of cake” on his laptop to fix and so later on we just did sit together for a while, talking about stuff, drinking coffee and more or less just purely enjoying the company of a close friend being there to talk with.

From there, as for it is close by, I headed over to my parents for a short catch up, to then finally heading home after I had seen them both happy and healthy.

Ok then, and for sure I know that it is me being addicted to computer! Finally at home and directly after I had thrown away my jacket and the backpack with the laptop I immediately powered on my normal home computer to check for new emails in between.

Can you imagine how curious I felt about to recognising an answer of a friend living in a different time zone telling me about my friend was still sitting about work right in the middle of the night?

It needed not one second thinking about for me, to offer my help finishing that job for my friend! And after a short and brief exchange about necessary technical details my friend finally headed to bed (then already late) with the good feeling there is a trusted person now taking care about it instead and leaving me with a similar great feeling about some friend out there trusting in me and my work!

Guess it’s not really necessary to mention that there was nothing to complain about the way I had finished that work.

As a biker with a bike running with a seasonal license plate from 04 to 10, it is nearly annoying to stand such lovely sunny weather conditions like we have actually.

Since two weeks we are able to enjoy a lovely weather high with sunny and mild (5 to 7°C) conditions and I’m always jealous looking at those bikers already enjoying their first rides this year. Not that you could stand the cold wind for long and even the warmest hours of the day does still feel cold in the breeze. But even a short ride for just a few minutes would do for sure.

Perhaps I really should go and re-license my bike again as planned and thought about since years. Looks like there might really come something good with that global warming at the end.

I’m curious anyway how the new season will turn out for me. After years being a loyal pillion rider, my wife has now discovered push bike riding for her …
Not only that all that new equipment nearly cost us a fortune, I might now have to look for new company on the “real” bike also ….

Nice lovely motorbike daytrips through wonderful countryside (or even a short 4 day long weekend trip into the alps) with a well powered GSX 750F. Always ready to break down and stop for a spontaneous and leisure cold drink, coffee, ice , lunch or dinner …. any takers?
