Driving home this evening I got aware about some special news break within the normal radio program. Listening to a comment of our "Angie" speaking about a black day for Germany made me curious and I focused to what the had to say.

This morning 16 humans got killed by a teenager taking a gun with him into his school and firing it without warning first. A school at Winnenden, a town within Baden Württemberg (not even far away).

How scaring and unbelievable it that? Doesn’t this only happens far away in the "States"?

No, for sure not! But happening something like this directly within "your frontyard" – ok, there are a few Kilometre in between – is scaring and does make me feeling stunned and speechless.

What has gone wrong? The raising of this teenager by his parents? Or did the whole system fail? Was it the extensive playing of "violent" games on the PC on an ongoing basis, as a lot of people in the news do now assume?

Honestly I have no answer. I’m speechless today ….

switching my cars to winter tires usually  is one of the last tasks to do for me in a long list of activities preparing my stuff for the coming up winter season. Usually around mid or end of november when all the other things around the house are already done.

 Since two years it is even official law running on winter or all season tires at this time of the year and insurances often making their point about when being forced to cover damage. I’m not really having an issue with that. It was always was my thinking that using appropriate gear in every situation is the best thing preventing trouble. And so I’m using a 2nd set of tires for all my cars since ages.

Now this year it is different. Being lazy lately I more enjoyed the last sunny conditions whenever possible and still need to prepare all the backyard including the pond (brrrrrrrrrrr … I was sure I will regret it!). But since days now weather forcast is annoning cold conditions and even snow soon. So against all experiences I collected before, I gave the winter tires an early go this year and looking at the backyard  …. this weekend or never! In case snow comes really early this year, I guess nature has to help itself then.

I’m anyway no big fan of winter season. Sure, for a few days and with clear and sunny conditions snow can be something nice.
But given a chance I would immediately swap my winter with the summer of someone else. Any takers?!

Traveling is what I do actually and confessed … one of my absolute favorite things to do.

Now I can not travel all year long, as it is for sure some money issue coming with it. But given the choice I rather do prefer one long and extended trip instead of doing several smaller trips spread over the year.

I need that long time being away from all, freshing and cleaning my mind from all and filling it up with new and exciting memories. Give me a car (or something else to move) an new area and a different new place to discover each day and I will feel happy!

But by that fact, I do know that I’m no easy traveling companion! Being able to drive some less active "traveling" person than me nearly insane. But it is exactly that easy cruising and being in motion all time … taking things easy and enjoying them as they come, which gives me pleasure and finally distance from work and stress.

Honestly, there is just one time looking back,  I’m still sorry and grumpy with myself about me not having slowed down and taking more time enjoying being together with a close friend I was catching up for the first and so far last time.

Instead of slowing down as sensefully I kept the whole family moving with me nearly for a whole week and directly when leaving I got aware about it was wrong.

But hey! I like travelling! I will come back promised and then we will take all time of world to complete what we have started once.

This time I made it up over into Uncle Sam country and I really do like it very much. People are exceptional friendly and landscape is gorgeous. The car is running well and fuel is cheap (at least compared with at home) … Do I need more?

Yeap, give me someting exciting to discover tomorrow.

Today I brought in my 2nd car to the car dealer for the obligate yearly service interval and I nearly bumped together with the lady out of the sales office.

We usually just see us 3 or 4 times a year, but we both like to deal with each other. Especially since by coincidence we unveiled that we both more or less feel addicted to Australia. She because of having family there and me for my friends and the great time I always have there.

Seeing her, I thought that is a great time to get some info about a special model I’m interested in and so we both strolled to her desk and she even finally filed the paper for the todays service interval of my car.

But then last!!! When she handed over me the key of the spare car I got from them for today she said: “I’m really sorry to tell you that I sold your Pirates Car last week!” ***Dong***

I’m sure I didn’t mention that to her …. just wrote about it here! Someone seems to read my blog!

When I yesterday brought in my car for service, I got a spare car to drive with as ususal. Just this time I got a fire red Honda Jazz with a Pirates decor all over – The Pirates Car!

Sure it was a brand new car and nice to drive with …. but seriously that was a “girly car” …. Why did they hand it over to me?!

Can you imagine all the views following me when I drove with it during the day? Even my wife started to smile when I told her about and therefore and as a very sadistic punishment I made her driving back the car to the dealer in the evening … And you know what!! Right the first girl on a push bike we passed had a good smile about seeing her driving the car.
